Business firewalls: common questions
What is the difference between the provider's router and a firewall?
The router brings the internet connection; the firewall protects it: it checks inbound and outbound traffic, blocks threats and dangerous sites, manages VPNs and separates internal networks. The two devices work together.
Which firewalls do you install?
We are a Sophos partner and reseller: we offer Sophos firewalls with original licences, configuration and support from a single contact. During the site survey we also assess the device you already have.
How long is the network down during installation?
Usually a few minutes: the configuration is ready in advance and the swap happens when you prefer, even in the evening or at the weekend.
Do licences need renewing?
Yes: protection updates, web filtering and threat defence are tied to a one-year or multi-year licence. We take care of expiry dates and renewals.
Does a firewall help with NIS2?
Yes: perimeter protection, remote access with strong authentication, event logs and separate networks are among the required technical measures, and the firewall is often the first step.
Do you also work outside Cagliari?
Yes. Our office is in Quartu Sant'Elena, right next to Cagliari: we work in Cagliari and its metropolitan area and organise site surveys, installations and support throughout Sardinia, including Sassari, Olbia, Nuoro, Oristano. Support also continues remotely with tickets and remote assistance.
