Fire and smoke detection: the right alarm, at the right time

A fire must be spotted while it is still smoke, not flames. We design and install detection systems to UNI 9795 with EN 54 certified components, link them to the other building systems and keep them working over time, with periodic checks and an up-to-date log book.

Based in Quartu Sant'Elena · on-site work in Cagliari, its metropolitan area and all of Sardinia

What we do

Fire and smoke detection: from design to support

Smoke and heat detectors, aspirating systems, control panels, call points and alarms: designed to UNI 9795, linked to the other building systems and maintained over time.

Smoke and heat detectors

Optical, heat and multi-sensor point detectors chosen for each area: offices, corridors, archives, kitchens, plant rooms and raised floors.

Aspirating systems

Continuous air sampling with very early detection: ideal for server rooms, data centres, ceiling voids, raised floors and large volumes.

Addressable control panels

Every device has its own address: the alarm shows the exact room, with fault and disablement management and an event history.

Sounders, beacons and voice alarm

Manual call points, sounder-beacons and voice evacuation systems where required by the fire strategy.

Control of other systems

Closing fire doors, stopping air handling units, releasing doors on escape routes, starting extinguishing and reporting to the BMS.

Inspection and maintenance

Periodic checks to UNI 11224, detector testing, a log book and documented work every time.

From A to Z

From design and commissioning to periodic checks

A detection system must work on the day it is needed, perhaps years later: that is why we follow it from the room survey to maintenance.

  1. 01

    Site survey

Rooms and activities, heights, ceiling voids and raised floors, existing systems and the requirements of the fire strategy.

  2. 02

    Design to UNI 9795

Detector type and position, zones, cable routes, power supplies and alarm logic, coordinated with the fire engineer.

  3. 03

    Component selection

Control panel, detectors and EN 54 certified devices, compatible with each other and ready for future expansion.

  4. 04

    Installation

Fire-resistant cables where required, devices and control panel, with every point labelled.

  5. 05

    Programming and scenarios

Zones, delays, messages and outputs to fire doors, ventilation, access points and automatic extinguishing.

  6. 06

    Commissioning

Testing every detector and call point, checking alarms and outputs, test reports and full system documentation.

  7. 07

    Training

Staff learn to read the panel, recognise alarms and faults and manage temporary disablements.

  8. 08

    Periodic checks

Scheduled inspection and maintenance to UNI 11224, with the log book always up to date.

Who it is for

Tailored solutions for every environment

Every project starts with a site survey: spaces, users, existing systems and goals. We often work with:

Where we work

Fire and smoke detection in Cagliari and Sardinia

Our office is in Quartu Sant'Elena, right next to Cagliari: we work for companies, public bodies and facilities in Cagliari, across its metropolitan area and throughout Sardinia. Every project starts with an on-site survey; after installation, support continues with tickets, remote assistance and on-site visits.

FAQ

Fire and smoke detection: common questions

Which standards do you follow for fire detection?

Design and installation to UNI 9795, with components certified to the EN 54 series. Inspection and maintenance follow UNI 11224 and the Italian Ministerial Decree of 1 September 2021 on fire protection system checks.

What are aspirating smoke detection systems?

A network of pipes continuously samples the air and brings it to a very sensitive detector that recognises smoke at the earliest stage. They suit server rooms, raised floors, ceiling voids and areas where conventional detectors would be slow or hard to reach.

Can the old system be extended or must it be replaced?

It depends on the control panel and installed components. During the survey we check compatibility, condition and compliance and propose extension or replacement, also in phases.

Can detection trigger automatic extinguishing?

Yes. In a server room, for example, the fire is confirmed by two independent detectors and extinguishing starts after a delay that lets people leave, with the option to hold it in case of a false alarm.

How often must the systems be checked?

Checks are periodic, normally every six months, with the tests and frequencies set out in UNI 11224, plus daily surveillance by staff. We schedule the dates and keep the log book up to date.

Can fire detection be linked to the BMS?

Yes: the BMS shows panel alarms and faults on the floor plan and coordinates the other systems according to the fire strategy. The panel still works on its own, even without the BMS.

Do you also work outside Cagliari?

Yes. Our office is in Quartu Sant'Elena, right next to Cagliari: we work in Cagliari and its metropolitan area and organise site surveys, installations and support throughout Sardinia, including Sassari, Olbia, Nuoro, Oristano. Support also continues remotely with tickets and remote assistance.
